It seems like so long ago at times that I was at WCA, yet at times it seems like just yesterday. I don't even know if you know this, but I used to help Pastor Kim on some Wednesday nights with the kids...mostly just to get away from the stress of school and band. I was able to just have fun with the kids and I loved to help. In those times, I came to know Emily in a personal way. She made such an impact on my life. I truly saw her joy and love for others and how special God made her. I was so upset when Steve Elliott emailed me and told me of her passing. I still think about her all of the time. I may be a music education major, but I still have such a heart for exceptional students. I took a course this summer on Exceptional Learners and was able to share a lot with my class about my experiences with Emily. I told them about how much she taught me about life and how God loves each and every one of his children. She taught me to appreciate the little things. She also taught me to slow down sometimes and just sit and enjoy the life that God has given me. Her effect on my life not only has touched me, but now others in my classes. I couldn't talk about her in class without shedding a tear, and now I can barely contain it writing this. I cannot imagine going through what you have been through, but I just wanted you and your family to know that Emily made such an impact on my life, even if you were never aware of it. God truly had a plan for her life. Know that I prayed for her since I graduated, and continue to pray for you and your family. I will never forget the great lessons she taught me or the amazing little girl that she was.

In Christ,
