Home with Jesus

The joy Emily gave to others in life she is now experiencing to the fullest in the presence of Jesus. Her mind, body, and spirit are now fully whole. She went home to be with Jesus at 9:00 p.m., Sunday, December 30, 2007. “Emily” means “striver,” and she fought the battle hard until the end. Our hearts ache because we miss her so much, but we look forward to celebrating with her in eternity some day.

Heaven has a new angel, complete with her famous beads. I see Emily playing hide and seek in the clouds, just as we did around the columns at FMS. My husband and I feel blessed that we had a chance to visit her. The first thing you felt, when you walked into that small room, was the love. The love of her family and Emily's love. Little Miss Sunshine is shining down on us with her big smile. Our thoughts and prayers are with Emily's family and friends.

God Bless,

Dear Dr. Smith & Family,

I'm so sorry for your loss at this time. Emily seems to have brought a lot of joy to a lot of people in her short time here on earth. I hope you find comfort in knowing that today she sits at the throne of our Heavenly Father. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers at this time.

Dear Smith family,

Kelly and I were brought to tears this morning when we read that Emily has gone to be with Jesus. I can't imagine how she is feeling now with her new body and praising her God. We thank you for the opportunity of getting to experience Emily. I can see her holding Danae's hand at TRBC playroom, looking past Danae's limitations and making her feel special. If you haven't listened to "The Last Ones" by Matthew West (album = History), I encourage you. You'll see Emily in your minds as you hear Matthew's words. Praise be to God that He has provided us joy that this life isn't the end. We have an eternity to worship him and fellowship with our loved ones.

Praying for you,
Mark

Words cannot express what Emily meant to us. To have shared in a small part of her precious life is a blessing to me. I remember walking her to the bus and always getting one last hug and a big "see you tomorrow" from her before she stepped on. After that I couldn't walk away just yet. I waited for her to take her seat in the front with her friends and then receive my smile, wave, and kisses blown through the window. I looked forward to that everyday. I knew no matter how rough or frustrating my day was before I got to FMS,that it would always end with that sweet goodbye tradition from Emily. It was an absolute joy working with her everyday. I will continue to pray for all of you as you go through this time. We love you all and are SO glad we came to see Emily for one last time on this earth. I can't help but think how heaven welcomed one of their own. She has been healed by the great healer. She has seen His face and He has given her sweet rest in His arms forever. Rest Emily...we will never forget you and we WILL see you again when we join you in paradise.

Dear Sam, Sonja, and Family,

Cindy and I will be praying for all of you who grieve the loss of God's touch on your lives through Little Miss Sunshine. There is no doubt in my heart and mind that Emily rejoices in Heaven as she experiences the fullness of God's love and the completeness of who He created her to be.

We rejoice with her while at the same time grieve with those of you who will miss her the most.

Our prayer for you is that the peace which truely surpasses all human/worldly understanding be with you during this time of temporary separation from one you love.

Sincerely,
Phil & Cindy Waugh

Dear Sam and family,
We have and will continue to lift you up in prayer at our ACSI office. We know Emily is at the feet of Jesus and surrounded by love. I also know there is a hole and an ache in your hearts. God is faithful and will give you peace.

When I first met Emily, I could not help but to be drawn to her amazing personality. Her smile was so contagious and she was a friend to all. Words can't express how deeply I will miss her, but I know that she is in a better place. My prayers are with you all and if I can be of any assistance to you all for anything, please let me know.

God Bless,

Dear Smith Family,
We will miss Emily's beautiful smile. She was a little bit of heaven here on earth. Jesus has a very special angel at His house today.

"Laugh, run and play sweet Emily, then rest in Jesus' arms. You are no longer in pain, but healthy, whole and strong."

You are all in our prayers. Our hearts ache for your loss. We love you and pray the Lord will comfort you with His love.

Dear Smiths:

Our hearts ache for you as you say, "see you later" to your precious gift from our Father. As I'm writing this, I see Emily's precious smile in the picture of her sitting in front of the tree and looking upward and can just imagine the same sweet look on her face as her Father welcomed her into His arms!
Our SS is praying for you and anxious to help you in any way.

Sam, Sonya & Family,

I am so grateful for the time that I knew Emily. I recall how her face would light up when she would see her daddy.

Thank God for the surety that our separation is temporary and that we will soon be reunited.

Dotty and I love and appreciate you so much. Peace from our family to yours.

Well never forget how Emily loved the simplest things in life. We will never look at a martigraw bead without thinking of her.

Emily showed me how to take life to the fullest, and push through the roughest times, no matter what comes your way. She would always have a smile on.

We will miss Emily very much. You all are in our prayers.

James 1:2-4
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
With love to you all,

I am so sad for you all but so happy for dear Emily. I had the great privilege to "buddy" with Emily at Thomas Road's Ikids. Emily was always so sweet and cute with her beads. She also had a unique way of making you laugh by the cute things she did. I will forever cherish the memories I have of her singing and clapping during worship. I know God has given her a wonderful glorfied body in heaven where she can freely worship Him forever. I wait for the day to join her :)

Love to all,
Erin Lilly
